Shingles

Shingles, or herpes zoster, is a painful rash caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus. It often appears as a stripe of blisters on one side of the body. Early diagnosis and antiviral treatment can help shorten the duration of the outbreak, relieve pain, and reduce the risk of long-term nerve damage (postherpetic neuralgia).
