Services

Screenings

Our purpose is to provide affordable and available screening services for the uninsured, underinsured, and those who just want to know (peace of mind); and provide a preventative healthcare screening service to the community. Customers are not required to obtain a physician referral for the screening. In addition, a screening is not intended to provide or take the place of a complete diagnostic medical procedure.

The cost for each screening exam is $35.00 or all three for $100.00. Payable to Muskegon Surgical Associates, PC. Check, cash or credit will be accepted prior to the screening tests.

Screening services are also available every day at our vascular lab. All the customer needs to do is call our scheduling department at 231-739-1931 and request a screening.

Approximately three (3) times per year we will offer a dedicated screening day. Usually, one of the screening tests will be promoted and free, and the other two may be purchased. The customer may choose to have just the free test or have the free test and purchase one or both of the others screening tests.

Available screening studies:

  1. Carotid duplex – to rule out blockage within the neck that carry blood to the brain.
  2. Aorta duplex – to rule out an abdominal aortic aneurysm (a bulging of the aorta).
  3. Ankle/Brachial Index (ABI)- to rule out reduced arterial circulation within the legs.
The screening takes approximately 15 minutes.

Primary Care Physician:
Should the customer elect to have the results of the screening sent to his/her Primary Care Physician – then a finalized report will be sent as requested.

Customer:
The customer will be given a preliminary report following the screening and educated regarding the obtained data. A finalized report will be kept on file.

Thank you for expressing an interest. We look forward to assisting in the preventative health maintenance of your community.
