The new report also breaks down the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/d2wirczt3b6wjm.cloudfront.net\/News\/Statistics\/2016\/cosmetic-procedures-average-cost-2016.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">national average cost<\/a>\u00a0of surgical and minimally-invasive procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Among the more popular cosmetic surgical procedures and their related costs were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/cosmetic-procedures\/breast-augmentation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Breast augmentation<\/a>\u00a0(290,467 procedures): national average cost of $3,719<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/cosmetic-procedures\/liposuction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liposuction<\/a>\u00a0(235,237 procedures): national average cost of $3,200<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/cosmetic-procedures\/rhinoplasty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nose reshaping<\/a>\u00a0(223,018 procedures): national average cost of $5,046<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/cosmetic-procedures\/tummy-tuck\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tummy tuck<\/a>\u00a0(127,633 procedures): national average cost of $5,798<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/cosmetic-procedures\/buttock-augmentation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Buttock augmentation<\/a>\u00a0(18,489 procedures) national average cost of $4,356<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Among the more popular minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures and their related costs were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/cosmetic-procedures\/botulinum-toxin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wrinkle treatment injections<\/a>\u00a0(botulinum toxin type-A, such as Botox\u00ae, Dysport\u00ae) (7 million procedures): national average cost of $385<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/cosmetic-procedures\/dermal-fillers-hyaluronic-acid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hyaluronic acid fillers<\/a>\u00a0(2 million procedures): national average cost of $644<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/cosmetic-procedures\/chemical-peel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chemical peel<\/a>\u00a0(1.3 million procedures): national average cost of $673<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/cosmetic-procedures\/microdermabrasion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microdermabrasion<\/a>\u00a0(775,014 procedures): national average cost of $138<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/cosmetic-procedures\/laser-skin-resurfacing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laser treatments<\/a>\u00a0(Intense Pulsed Light) (656,781 procedures): national average cost of $433<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The national average cost of breast augmentation surgery decreased 2.7 percent from 2015. The cost for liposuction increased 6.1 percent and nose reshaping increased 5.6 percent. Botulinum toxin type A injections increased by less than 1 percent from 2015, while hyaluronic acid costs increased 5 percent and chemical peels increased 5.7 percent compared to 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Cost factors for most cosmetic surgeries include the type of surgery chosen, location of surgery, surgeon\u2019s experience and insurance coverage. Fees generally do not include anesthesia, operating room facilities or other related expenses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe most important consideration for patients should be choosing a board-certified, ASPS-member surgeon,\u201d said\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/about-asps\/leadership\/asps-presidents-message\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ASPS President Debra Johnson, MD<\/a>. \u201cBefore you undergo any procedure, make sure you\u2019re putting yourself in the hands of only the most qualified and highly trained plastic surgeons.
